Parent-Child Program Teacher

Located on two campuses in San Francisco including our new LEED gold certified high school, San Francisco Waldorf School was founded in 1979. Our school serves more than 400 students and encompasses a parent-child program, a nursery program, three kindergartens, and the first through twelfth grades. Our grade school (nursery through eighth grade) is located in the quiet residential neighborhood of Pacific Heights where our children often hike to the local park, the school garden at St. Anne's, and the Presidio with its beautiful forests, beaches and spectacular views. The high school campus is located across town in the West Portal District, not far from the Pacific Ocean.

We are seeking a Teacher to join us in our Parent-Child Program. Working closely with the Parent-Child Program Director, the position of Parent-Child Program Teacher is one which requires an in-depth understanding of child development in the first three years and experience working with parents and young children in a compassionate and welcoming way. Completion of a Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher Training program is essential.

The Parent-Child classes are offered in three, ten-week sessions during the academic school year. The teacher hired would start with at least one weekly class with the potential for additional classes. This is an hourly, part-time position and does not carry any benefits.

Please review our program description, where our program, philosophy, and classes are described in detail. We especially seek a candidate who could facilitate an Observation class.
