Community Service is Part of the School Experience

Students connect with organizations of interest through the Bay Area, working at places such as Green CitizenGlide Memorial Church, and the Presidio. Whatever the choice, our students begin to see themselves as engaged citizens who can make a difference.

The school helps students identify programs of interest and supports them as they volunteer at least eighty hours over four years (twenty hours each year). There are several designated Student Service days during the school year.

Inkanyezi Waldorf School in South Africa

The Walk-a-thon is an annual school-wide student benefit that support Inkanyezi Waldorf School in South Africa. Students organize their own sponsors and pledges, then walk together through Golden Gate Park—rain or shine. For more than a decade, our students have raised funds, donated art supplies, and sponsored students to study at the high school.

The event is sponsored by the Student Council.
