Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is the cornerstone of San Francisco Waldorf School’s growing philanthropic efforts. Each year, parents, teachers, trustees, staff, friends, grandparents, and neighbors meet the financial needs of the school through generous and thoughtful gifts.

Annual Fund contributions are essential to the day-to-day operations of the school. Since SFWS is a 501(c)(3) organization, all gifts are tax-deductible for donors. These funds cover the gap in the operating budget that is not covered by tuition and other income to the school. The money is essential to the education, bridging costs of instructional materials, facilities renewal, and professional development for faculty.

The ongoing commitment and involvement of the entire community contribute to the vitality and sustainability of our school. Each year, as students continue to develop academically, socially, and emotionally, there is a renewed appreciation for the individuals that make this school so vibrant and successful through annual gifts.

Pledges can be made by mail or e-mail. Pledge reminder letters will be mailed annually or at the times requested in your pledge.

Pledges may also be made online.

If you would like to spread out your pledge payments, many families elect to set up electronic fund transfers from a checking or savings account. Please use the address listed above for automatic checks. If you prefer to wire funds directly to the school's account, you may use this information.

Stocks & Securities

Making a gift of securities is both simple and tax efficient. Gifts of appreciated stock may allow a donor to avoid a capital gains tax in addition to receiving a charitable income tax deduction for the fair market value of the stock. To initiate a gift of stock, we ask that you follow the instructions on the Stock Transfer Form. Please email ( information about your stock transfer when it is completed by your broker.

Matching Gifts

Many companies have a matching gift program which can double or triple the value of your gift. Please check with your company's Human Resource Department. The matching gift must be initiated by you once you have contributed to San Francisco Waldorf School. When we receive the paperwork from the company, we can verify that your gift was made and complete the necessary documentation.
