Kindergarten Vision Screening
On October 10, we will be conducting our yearly Vision Screening in the kindergarten. This service is free of charge and is conducted by a trained nurse from the Prevent Blindness of Northern California organization. We will need one volunteer to help with the screening. Coffee Tasting & Selection

Seeking Donations of Used Children’s Books and Halloween Costumes
Support PA’s Book/Costume Sale – OCT 3 Sale Last year, the Parents’ Association started the tradition of Used Children’s Books Sales throughout the year. The PA is starting this up again with the first sale coming up Monday, October 3, 2011 at pick up. We are looking for donations of slightly used children’s books that support the Waldorf curriculum. Bake Sales are Starting!
The 8th Grade is beginning their weekly Thursday Bake Sales this week. Right after school they will be offering tasty baked goods and other treats. The Bake Sale will be located in front of Dakin Hall on the sidewalk to the west of the pick-up area. SFWS at the San Francisco Symphony
September 29, 30 and October 1 The San Francisco Symphony will honor the San Francisco Waldorf School music department at upcoming performances, Thursday, September 29th through Saturday, October 1st by naming us in the concert program notes. Stern Grove Assembly, Friday, September - Grades 1 - 12
Parents are warmly invited to a morning of activities at Stern Grove on Friday, September 30. Beginning at 10:15am the school will host a coffee tasting event. SFWS is partnering with CoffeeCSA.org to produce our own SFWS blends that will be for sale in the coming month. The 8th Grade is seeking submissions of creative work from the SFWS community to be printed as holiday cards and sold to fund the 8th Grade class trip. San Francisco Waldorf School is participant in the TICKETS Fore CHARITY program for the 2011 Charles Schwab Cup Championship. The final event on the Champions Tour in the season-long race for the Charles Schwab Cup will conclude at TPC Harding Park, San Francisco, November 2 - 6, 2011. Grade school applications are due Friday, January 13th. A final grade school tour has been added for Tuesday, January 10th. 3rd Grade Experiences Covelo Farm and Snow!
In March, the third grade received an honor bestowed on them by Gloria and Stephen Decater of Live Power Community Farm in Covelo, CA. The Decaters told the children that in their 27 years of hosting school groups, 10 groups per year, our 3rd grade had experienced the most extreme weather to date. The Decaters congratulated our children on their resilience, strong work ethic, and good cheer throughout it all.
