Parent Association

The San Francisco Waldorf School Parent Association creates and nurtures a vibrant community through volunteerism that supports and enriches the lives of parents, staff and students.  It is comprised of all the parents of the grade school and is led by co-chairs who oversee the sub-committees that run events and fund raising efforts. Sports Basement supports Waldorf! Each time you shop, just tell the register staff at check-out that you are with Waldorf School to receive a 10% discount AND Sports Basement will donate 5% of your purchase back to the school.

PA Committees

Annual Ostheimer Sale - October school bulk order of Ostheimer wooden figures (as seen in the early classes). Perfect gifts at a 10% discount through the Parents Association. Help needed to distribute catalogs, collect order forms, and distribute orders to parents promptly upon arrival of merchandise.

Book Closet - Book organization and seasonal presentation of new books for sale located by the front office. Highlighting books for each season through the year and PA room at Winter Fair.

Book Keeping - Manage expenses for the PA. Annual report of PA budget to Board.

Class Liaison - Attend one of the two monthly Parent Association meeting and distribute information and handouts to your class. Liaisons for your class is the best way to give your class a voice in the Parent Association. Strong two way communication brings class concerns to the Parent Association.

Clothing Swap  - Set up, attend and gather left over clothing swap items for donation to a local children’s charity. Clothing swaps are scheduled on weekends. Two clothing swaps per semester.
Committee Leader: Krya Baele

Craft Circle - Host craft learning morning. The PA is looking for parents that are skilled in knitting, sewing, felting, crocheting and woodworking to lead a group of parents in an introduction session.

Fairy Walk - Setting up, two hour shift day of the event or clean up. There are many opportunities to be a part of this wonderful Halloween event.

Lost and Found - Monthly clean out of lost and found bin. Return items with names to class of child. Remaining unclaimed items sent to next clothing swap.

Online Support - Experience with Google Docs/Spreadsheets for help managing volunteer lists.

May Faire - Assist in decorations and crafts for the children. Last year we dyed silks for streamers and assisted the children in garland making. Decorate procession and seating area for May Queen.

Monthly Parent Association Meeting Scribe - Attendance at monthly Parent Association meeting to take notes and type up for distribution.

Monthly Parent Association Coffee Social - Bringing breakfast snacks to monthly coffee social in the wood shop. Parent will be reimbursed for costs. Staying for coffee social to close up.

Parent Association Merchandise Shop - Assist with quarterly inventory, pricing and stocking Mercurius school supplies and crafting supplies which are all available for sale in the front

Used Book Sale - Assist setting up, selling and putting away books. Monthly sale.
