Sunday, June 10 9:30-3:30.
At our HIGH SCHOOL CAMPUS (470 West Portal Avenue).
Ecological Artist and Fibershed founder Rebecca Burgess will lead a day long exploration in native plant dyes.
- Come and meet the deep orange, sage-like greens, and sunny yellows that are offered by the native and naturalized plants of our region.
- Learn everything from harvesting to preparing local fibers to producing beautiful textiles with natural color from the California chaparral ecosystem.
- Different methods explored include immersion dye and resist techniques on samples.
Participants will leave with samples in organic cotton, local wool, and recycled silk. Bring a potluck dish to share (along with your own plate, utensils and water bottle)
