Jamie Lloyd, Grade School Chair

Jamie Lloyd joined San Francisco Waldorf School with decades of experience in Waldorf schools, both as a teacher and as an administrator. He holds a BS in Human Development with emphasis in Applied Developmental Psychology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and a California State Teacher Credential with certification for Cross Cultural Language Acquisition from Dominican University. Jamie completed his Waldorf teacher training at the Center for Educational Renewal and received a certificate from the Waldorf Leadership Development Program at the Center for Anthroposophy. Before joining San Francisco Waldorf School in 2023, he served as School Director at Portland Waldorf School in Portland, OR; Executive Director at Woodland Star School in Sonoma County from from 2016 to 2021; and Lower School Coordinator at Summerfield Waldorf School & Farm from 2013-2016.
“In the case of young human beings, it's essential that they not only have a high-quality education, but have many experiences of being seen at school. This is a priority for me as a school leader,” Mr. Lloyd says. When Mr. Lloyd isn’t at school, he enjoys pottery, gardening, long walks, hikes, tennis, and fermenting.
Lenya Bloom, High School Chair

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Lenya Bloom graduated from San Francisco Waldorf School in 1994. She received a BA in Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania and an MA in Sociology from the Benemerita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla, in Puebla, Mexico. Lenya lived in Mexico for 16 years, where she co-founded a Waldorf initiative in Puebla and completed her Waldorf teacher training at the Centro de Desarrollo Antroposofico in Cuernavaca. She also holds a certificate in Waldorf Leadership Development from the Center for Anthroposophy and a certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard Business School & Graduate School of Education.
“At the core of our work is keeping young people connected to the question of ‘who am I?’ as they learn to ask the right questions, and push to bring truth, goodness, and beauty out of their authentic selves,” says Ms. Bloom. Outside of school, Ms. Bloom enjoys reading, studying, hiking, opening recipe books for inspiration (but ignoring the recipes), and hunting for sea glass at Bay Area beaches.
