After Care & After School

Building on the rhythms of the regular school day, our After Care & After School program offers children a warm and welcoming space to recharge, relax, and connect with each other in a familiar environment.
The program serves families with children in Kindergarten and Grades 1-6.
For Kindergarteners, the After Care program is fully integrated with the daily curriculum. Children participate in a gentle afternoon of nap/rest, free play, crafts, stories, and outdoor exploration. As part of our daily rhythm, teachers prepare a late-afternoon snack in the classroom for the students to share.
For students in Grades 1-6, the After School program is an opportunity to play, socialize, and relax in a welcoming mixed-age community, overseen by caring, Waldorf-aligned educators. The program contributes to building a cohesive school community at San Francisco Waldorf School, providing a unique opportunity for social connection and bonding between classes. We make use of our school’s beautiful classrooms and outdoor spaces; for older students, our beloved library is also open after school for quiet time, silent reading, or homework. Families also have the option of scheduling extra music lessons for their child during After School hours.
Hours and Contracts
After Care & After School begin immediately following the regular school day, from Monday through Friday, and run until 5:30pm. Parents/guardians are welcome to pick up their children anytime before the program closes. Please note that the After Care & After School program is by contract only; we do not offer a drop-in option.
