The Ran Oehl Early Childhood Scholarship

Ran Oehl

The Ran Oehl Early Childhood Scholarship for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, created in 2021, memorializes the love and commitment of SFWS parent Ran Oehl. The Scholarship supports diversity efforts by providing targeted tuition scholarships for families from underrepresented communities in the Bay Area.

The goal of the fund is to ensure a long-term endowment for families from diverse backgrounds for our Early Childhood Program. If you would like to know more, please contact Advancement Director Eric Norman.

From the Oehl Family

Ran loved stepping into the Preschool and Kindergarten classrooms. The environment was truly special—filled with joy and love—providing our daughter with the opportunity to be guided through play, structure, imagination, and community. Our family has been so fortunate to have the support of the school over the years, and we are honored to help others experience the exceptional environment of the school through this scholarship program.

The appreciation for nature and exposure to handcrafts in the classroom were of particular fondness to Ran. She felt that the teachers' pedagogical approach not only provided guidance to our daughter in school but also helped us as parents with our daughter's development at home.

We hope that this scholarship will open the doors to a broad diversity of children who otherwise would not be able to gain access to this education.
