Former Washington Post Bureau Chief Janine Zacharia

Last year, renowned journalist and Stanford professor Janine Zacharia delivered a powerful message to our high school students: how can you navigate the world given the increasingly fragmented media landscape?

Now, as seniors worldwide shelter-in-place, marking graduation from apartments, living rooms, and backyards, Ms. Zacharia returns as our distinguished and timely keynote speaker.

Janine Zacharia served as the Jerusalem Bureau Chief for The Washington Post, State Department Correspondent for Bloomberg News, and Washington Bureau Chief for the Jerusalem Post. Her reporting took her to 40 countries and spanned the 1993 Oslo Peace Accords to the 2011 Arab Spring. Ms. Zacharia now teaches journalism at Stanford University where she is the Carlos Kelly McClatchy Visiting Lecturer.

Our seniors mark their commencement virtually on June 13th.
As is the tradition, seniors met with the speaker, via Zoom this year, in preparation for the event.
