Through the Lens of our Parent Photographers

Our community is filled with brilliant artists, musicians, filmmakers, and photographers. In celebration of 100 years of Waldorf education, we asked a few of our parent photographers to share their vision of our school. Look for prints of these beautiful photographs as they appear at events and rotate across campuses.

The first in our series: Scott Chernis. Scott first picked up a camera while attending Tulane University in New Orleans. What began as a passion for jazz and the music and culture that is uniquely New Orleans has evolved into a career shooting a wide range of subject matter. He continues to photograph musicians both in San Francisco and New Orleans and his clientele includes the U.S State Department, Universities, Tech Startups, and local non-profits. His first book 10 Years with Intersection The Jazz Series was published in 2013.

Whether he is on location with the president of the United States or photographing in a classroom with middle school music students, Scott Chernis will put a piece of himself into every assignment.
