Volleyball Legacy Continues

Bryan Anderson, Athletic Director

Waldorf Volleyball was already in the record books with the most titles of any team in any sport in the BCL-Central League (2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017). Then the 2019 team continued the legacy: coming in as the number four seed, the team took the fifth championship title in six years, overcoming top-ranked Bay School in the semi-finals and International High School in the final.

The thrilling semi-final match against Bay took five sets. Waldorf started strong, taking the first two sets, before Bay rebounded to win the third. A close fourth set also went to Bay; neither team led by more than two points throughout. Waldorf regained the momentum in the fifth set, taking an early lead and winning in dominant fashion: 15-8.

In the finals against the International Jaguars, Waldorf again took the first two sets, the second fiercely contested, 28-26.  Waldorf easily took the third set 25-11, celebrating the victory with a court-rushing crowd!
