Women's Rights Activist Mahbouba Seraj, Live from Kabul

For our high school assembly last week, we were deeply honored to host via Zoom Mahbouba Seraj, a prominent human rights activist and advocate for women's rights in Afghanistan. Ms. Seraj, based in Kabul, was recently listed as one of the 100 Most Influential People of 2021 by Time magazine for her work. She chose to remain in Afghanistan to continue her efforts. She is currently the Executive Director of the Afghan Women Skills Development Center, the first organization in Afghanistan to work with victims of violence and abuse. Her talk was sponsored by the HS' Middle Eastern Club led by seniors Mansur and Sadie and made possible by her childhood friend from Afghanistan, a parent of two San Francisco Waldorf School students.
