Summer Camps 2024

When:  Monday-Friday, August 19-23, 2024
Where:  SF Waldorf High School Bushnell Center, West Portal neighborhood
Time:  9:30am – 4:00pm

Cost/student: $525 (½ days possible depending on enrollments; please inquire)

• 9:30-10:00am:  Drop-off
• 10:00am-12:30pm:  Basketball
• 12:30-1:30pm:  Lunch (not provided)
• 1:30-4:00pm:  Volleyball
• 4:00-4:15pm:  Pick up from HS Campus

Our Rising 2nd and 3rd Grade campers will spend the majority of our time outdoors as explorers and stewards of the land and sea around us. Children will experience lots of hiking, exploration and free-play in the many wonders of nature that are right here within a short hike from our campus. Pick-up locations may be adjusted to end points for those outings with longer hikes. Excursions will include everything from our beautiful neighborhood park, Alta Plaza, to the Presidio and Crissy Field. On days we remain closer to campus the children may return to do a summer themed craft activity as well.

• June 17 - July 5 (no Camp on Juneteenth or July 4)
• Camp hours are 9 am – 2:30 pm
• Camp is based out of our Grade School Campus in Pacific Heights
• Children can be dropped off in front of the school between 9 and 9:15 am and picked-up 
• Children should come prepared with two hearty snacks (labeled as ‘snack’), a substantial lunch, and a fully filled water bottle in their backpack.
• They will need a sun hat and sunscreen.
• Children should also have extra layers for cool mornings and (hopefully!) warm afternoons.
• Children should be dressed in clothes that can get dirty and muddy!
• Space is limited. Enrolled SFWS students receive priority.

• Week 2 (5 days 6/24-6/28) ($450)
• Week 3 (4 days: 7/1-7/5) - no 7/4 ($360)

Our Summer Kindergarten Camp (includes rising 1st graders) embraces the beautiful outdoor areas that surround us here at SF Waldorf Grade School Campus—exploring the Presidio and beautiful Alta Plaza Park with daily hikes and free play in nature each morning. The afternoon brings quieter activities with artwork, quiet play inside, story time, songs and rest. Careful attention is paid to providing natural materials, beautiful “tools” that allow the child’s imagination and physical capabilities the greatest scope.
