For children enrolled in Grades 1 - 5 during the current (2025-2026) school year. (Rising 2nd and 6th for next school year).
Summer Camp for Rising 2nd through Rising 6th Graders will have a weekly theme each morning led by an experienced Waldorf teachers. Themes will be based in practical activities or nature activities. The afternoons will be spent in outdoor free play on campus or at nearby beautiful Alta Plaza Park. Closing circle will round out the day.
Children must be at least 7-years old for this camp and have completed at least one year in a grade school setting. For younger children, please consider our Kindergarten Camp.
- June 15 - July 17 (no camp on Juneteenth, June 19)
- Camp hours are 9 am – 3 pm*
- Camp is based out of our Grade School Campus in Pacific Heights
- Children should come prepared with two hearty snacks (labeled as ‘snack’), a substantial lunch, and a fully filled water bottle in their backpack.
- They will need a sun hat and sunscreen.
- Children should also have extra layers for cool mornings and (hopefully!) warm afternoons.
- Children should be dressed in clothes that can get dirty and muddy!
*Early drop off option between 8:30 and 9 AM at no additional charge, but a sign-up will be required.
Space is limited. Enrolled SFWS students receive priority.
CAMP WEEK THEMES
Week 1 (June 15 - 18 - short week!) Woodshop with Wes Wherle
Campers will work with wood to make a flower press, work with pulp to make paper and put it all together with some gathered botanicals!
Week 2 (June 22-26) Improv with Charlotte Markle
Improv games and clowning skills will form the basis of this week of camp. Campers will learn how to listen and think on their feet, play with generosity, and discover self-confidence, all within the joyful and silly format of improv comedy
Week 3 (June 29 - July 3) Summer Solstice with Marta Shcharbakova
We will celebrate mid-summer using traditions from the Belarusian Summer Solstice. Campers will bake, craft, sing, dance, play games and explore myths and legends to mark this magical time of year.
Week 4 (July 6 - 10) Cooking with Kiki LaCroix
Campers will explore ingredients and cooking techniques during this very tactile week. Everyone will have an opportunity to partake of the results!
Week 5 (July 13 - 17) Painting with Kiki LaCroix
Exploring a variety of painting techniques and making our tools and medium will enliven this special summertime experience of painting!
