After School Program
The After School Program provides children, kindergarten through grade six, with a balanced, restful afternoon in a homelike setting. It is integrated with the school schedule to create one harmonious day.
Kindergarten children are guided through a gentle afternoon of indoor play, drawing, nap-time, snack, stories, and outdoor play. As in the classroom, children are encouraged to care for one another and their surroundings.
Grade school children can be with friends, play ball games, work on a craft, or find solitude in the library to do homework or read a book. The program offers children a neighborhood of sorts, within the limits of the campus and nearby park.
The program is available five days a week until 5:30 pm. It begins at school dismissal—1:00 pm for kindergarteners and 2:30 pm for grade school students. It is run by experienced and caring staff, many with Waldorf teacher training. The school also offers weeklong camps during February break, Spring break, and during the summer for current students.
