SFWHS Summer Backpacking
Program Overview:
Join us for a week of backpacking, whitewater rafting, and unforgettable adventure on our High School Summer Backpacking Trip! We’ll start the week with two exciting days of whitewater rafting on the American River before heading into the Sierra Nevada for our backpacking journey.
Our three-night, four-day route near Lake Tahoe offers both joys and challenges for experienced backpackers and newcomers. We’ll build outdoor leadership skills, practice map and compass navigation, play games, cook meals together, and make pizzas under starry skies. After wrapping up our time in the backcountry, we’ll take a well-deserved break with a swim and ice-cream stop in South Lake Tahoe before returning home.
This trip is ideal for students seeking personal growth, new challenges, leadership experience, and lasting memories while enjoying the best of summer in the Sierra Nevada. We hope to see you there!
