San Francisco Waldorf School Board of Trustees Resolution

The David Bushnell Center for Athletics and Community

In honor of 20 years of support, guidance, and leadership in the design and expansion of San Francisco Waldorf School, the board of trustees unanimously resolves to name our new center the David Bushnell Center for Athletics and Community.

David, who passed away unexpectedly on March 9, 2018, was loving father to two strong Waldorf graduates Lola (2014) and Léa (2011) and the devoted husband of long-time Grade School Teacher Laurence Jaquet. He was the lead architect of the current San Francisco Waldorf High School building as well as the new Center. David acted as visionary, project manager, and supporter of every construction and permitting project San Francisco Waldorf School has undertaken in the past 20 years.

His work with the San Francisco Waldorf School was characterized by the qualities and values we hold dear: imagination, initiative, perseverance, kindness, community collaboration, and joy. By naming this Center after David, we hope to both honor his contributions to our community and uplift the values he exemplified.

Unanimously approved by the San Francisco Waldorf School Board of Trustees on March 27, 2018.
