Institutional Advancement

San Francisco Waldorf School has an active and diverse advancement and development program. The focus of our advancement team is to build broad-based philanthropic assistance and to provide support in advancing the school's mission.

The advancement program is keenly invested in the long-term sustainability of San Francisco Waldorf School. As an ongoing process, we improve and adapt from year to year, with success measured not only by dollars raised but also by the number of new friends and supporters who become supporters and event participants. In independent school communities, the parent body bears a major portion of the financial responsibility through tuition. However, it is essential that a broad network of friends from the wider community continue to support the school.

Gifts come to the school in many forms, including volunteer support of programs (helping out in a craft class, for example), volunteer support of events, in-kind donations of materials and equipment, donations of items for the Spring Night Auction, the purchase of Scrip for use at local stores, cash gifts to the Annual Fund, Capital Campaigns, or the Endowment, and even automobiles given through the Car Program. Each and every one of these gifts is important to the financial and social well-being of the school and its community, and each is deeply appreciated.

A healthy social life is found only, when in the mirror of each soul the whole community finds its reflection, and when in the whole community the virtue of each one is living.
