Giving

A chalkboard drawing of a lily with a blended red and orange background at San Francisco Waldorf School.

Community is our strength.

At San Francisco Waldorf School, families, faculty, staff, and alum share their time, talent, and resources to make this extraordinary education possible for students today—and for generations to come.

Giving is a part of who we are. With the generous support of our friends, families, and foundations, our school has grown from a single Kindergarten classroom in 1979 to a thriving multi-campus Preschool-Twelfth Grade school today.

Thanks to your generosity, we continue to thrive.

Explore how our community contributes

There are many ways to contribute to San Francisco Waldorf School. To discuss your charitable goals and giving options, please reach out to Elizabeth Scarborough, our Director of Community Engagement.

100% Community Fund: Unity in Giving

The Community Fund helps the school meet day-to-day operating expenses not covered by tuition. Gifts to the Community Fund support a wide range of programs at San Francisco Waldorf School, including wilderness trips, after-school sports programs, and art programs and materials, in addition to helping fund our Equitable Tuition Program.

As a result of the high rate of participation in the Community Fund from our current families and alumni, we have secured significant gifts from foundations and private donors who appreciate significant community participation. When we all give, others give as well—it's that simple.

GIVE NOW

Capital Campaigns: A Growing Campus

Every five to eight years, we launch a capital campaign to help the school construct and improve our physical spaces. The Home Court Campaign (2016-2019), the largest capital campaign in our history, received dedicated gifts from between $100 and $1 million, to help us build a showcase center for athletics and community. We exceeded our campaign goal, raising $8.2 million to build the Bushnell Center for Athletics & Community.

The Endowment: High-Impact Giving

Make a lasting impact at San Francisco Waldorf School with a gift to our endowment. All funds in our endowment grow in perpetuity, providing long-term financial support to our school. The school has a general endowment and a number of named funds with specific areas of focus, all managed by a team of investment professionals.
