We look forward to working with you!

Meet Elizabeth Scarborough, Director of Community Engagement

Elizabeth Scarborough, Director of Community Engagement

Elizabeth Scarborough first joined the San Francisco Waldorf School community as a parent, where she appreciated the whole-child approach to education and the shared “sense of supporting each other while our children grow and develop.” Before taking the role of Director of Community Engagement in 2025, Elizabeth worked with diverse nonprofit organizations including Burning Man to Do It For The Love and CREW SF.

Elizabeth has a BA in French and Global Marketing from Clemson University, an MA in Art History from Richmond the American University, and an MBA from Clemson University, with a focus on International Marketing. From her office window overlooking the Grade School garden, Elizabeth loves to hear the students laugh, play, and truly revel in activities associated with learning. Outside of school, she enjoys art history and working with artists, traveling, and reading.

If you would like to discuss your charitable goals, ways to give, or how you can make a meaningful contribution to San Francisco Waldorf School, please reach out to Elizabeth at escarborough@sfwaldorf.org

Meet Karen Santiago, Event and Volunteer Coordinator

Karen loves having the opportunity to work directly with San Francisco Waldorf School volunteers in creating fun and engaging community events throughout the school year. A parent at our school, Karen and her family love the holistic approach to education, along with the celebrations of the seasons, the connection to nature, and the spirituality and warmth that exudes from every inch of the school’s campuses.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics and Management from Ohio University and spent the majority of her career in Supply Chain and Sales Management for large retail companies before joining the staff at San Francisco Waldorf School. When she isn’t at school, you will find Karen in tie dye reading a book, swimming, and enjoying time outdoors and with friends and family.

Please reach out to Karen if you would like to volunteer in support of San Francisco Waldorf School.
