Ways to Give

Gifts come in many forms.

The generosity of SF Waldorf School community ensures that our classrooms are vibrant, our faculty and staff supported, and our students inspired. Philanthropic support bridges the gap between tuition and the true cost of delivering an exceptional Waldorf education. Gifts of every size make an immediate impact on life at our school and are tax-deductible. San Francisco Waldorf School is an exempt, non-profit organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

There are many ways to support us. To discuss your giving options, please reach out to Elizabeth Scarborough, Director of Community Engagement.

Gifts of Stock

Making a stock gift is an easy way to share wealth, re-balance your portfolio, and take advantage of significant tax benefits. Gifts of appreciated stock may allow a donor to avoid capital gains taxes in addition to receiving a charitable income tax deduction for the fair market value of the stock. To initiate a gift of stock, please email Elizabeth Scarborough with your intentions and she will contact you with specific instructions on the appropriate stock transfer documents.

Matching Gifts

Many local and national companies match charitable donations made by their employees, doubling or tripling the donation. As a nonprofit organization, San Francisco Waldorf School is eligible to receive funds through corporate matching programs. To find out if your employer offers a matching gift program, check Charity Navigator to see if your company is listed, or contact your company’s Human Resources Department.

Pledges: Record your gift and pay over time

A pledge is a promise to make a specified payment at a future date or over time (most often within the school's fiscal year for the Community Fund, or within a specific campaign's pledge horizon, which can be up to five years in some cases). Pledges can be made by mail or email; reminder letters will be mailed annually or on the schedule requested by the donor.

In Kind Gifts

Gifts of services and materials help the school in many ways, in the classroom and at events like our annual Spring Night benefit. If you would like to make an in-kind gift, please fill out this form.
