Residential architecture firm specializing in new homes, additions and extensive gut-rehabilitation projects in San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Napa and the Peninsula.

Founded in San Francisco in 1980, Gast Architects is a service-oriented practice specializing in custom residential homes and renovations, including both contemporary solutions and the sensitive restoration and adaptation of historic properties. We offer comprehensive architectural services and take pride in the close working relationships we develop with our clients in responding to their needs, taste, budget and schedule, while maintaining architectural design excellence. Sustainable design strategies are integral to the design process, and several on our team are experienced LEED Accredited Professionals. Our projects range in scope from the development of large country properties and inner city whole house renovations to more modest additions to and remodeling of existing housing in styles from warm modern to traditional. We enjoy, and are skilled at, working with the limitations and opportunities inherent in renovating or adding to existing structures. Our long-term relationships with contractors, craftspeople and consultants strengthen the trust and effective team communication necessary for producing superior results.

At HSH Interiors, every project begins with the client's vision, because we believe that sophisticated interiors should be as unique as the people who live in them. We get to know each client personally and take a fresh approach to designing spaces that are truly reflective of the homeowner's lifestyle and preferences. Our full-service interior design firm has been serving the Bay Area and beyond since 2002, and we're consistently praised for our ability to transform our clients' dreams into realities. For every project—whether it's a large-scale remodel, ground-up construction, single-room revamp, or furniture selection—we create detailed road maps that make projects feel manageable without leaving a single detail to chance. Our team works collaboratively with the client, architects and builders to run projects large and small on time and on budget. At heart, owner and principal designer Holly Hollenbeck may be a modernist with a love of '60s and '70s aesthetics, but our five-person team is adept at working with varied tastes, always bringing the client's personality to life with designs that are anything but ordinary. Projects embody a diverse range of styles—from East Coast traditional to West Coast contemporary—that meld modern with vintage to create interiors that feel truly timeless. Located on a quaint stretch of Clement Street in San Francisco's Inner Richmond neighborhood is HSH Interiors' shared design studio and retail store. The idea for the store came about organically. Over the years, owner and principal designer Holly Hollenbeck has acquired a number of vintage treasures during her travels, and discovered niche brands that were not represented in San Francisco. Opening a store to sell both vintage pieces and new products she's uncovered felt like the natural next step. Inside the light-filled space, shoppers will find unique home décor, furniture, and accessories—such as candles, blankets, artwork, and lighting—at approachable price points. The boutique carries an ever-expanding roster of small and exclusive brands, a number of which are new to the Bay Area, including a line of fringe lamps and throw pillows by Huldra of Norway. And because Hollenbeck has an affinity for vintage, the shop stocks a rotating selection, with an emphasis on pieces from the '60s and '70s.
